All people should have opportunities to build better lives for themselves and their children.

But today, three out of four Guatemalans live below the poverty line. Most hardworking people struggle — and fail — to meet their families’ basic needs. Poverty is especially devastating in rural indigenous communities. In these villages, where food production is the foundation of the economy, eight in ten children are chronically malnourished.

That’s why we’re working in the poorest corners of Guatemala to help smallholder farmers put more food on their tables and more money in their pockets.

In partnership with agricultural industry leaders like Disagro and Mosaic, we’re connecting smallholder farmers with the resources they need to build wealth and stability for their families. With expert training, new technologies and unsubsidized loans, participating farming communities produce a crop yield that is up to 300% greater.
