The HELPS community is addressing the root causes of poverty in Guatemala with a unique  integrated approach focused on four key areas:

Stove & Water Filter

Lack of clean air and water in homes causes severe respiratory, eye and gastric consequences. Helps International brings Clean Cooking Stoves & Water Filters to help with health issues and so much more. Learn more.

Corn program

Traditional small farmers are not able to produce enough corn to feed their families. Through the Helps International Ag program, they can triple their yields. Learn more.

Medical Teams

Indigenous Guatemalans have virtually no access to medical care. Helps International sends xxxx medical professionals a year to provide vision, surgical and dental services where these isolated people live. Learn more.

Education

2 million Guatemalan children, mostly girls, lack access to education, especially in remote areas where Spanish is not the native language. The Helps education program provides a unique system that allows children to start their education in the local language. Learn more.

2023 Volunteer Impact

Education volunteers traveled 3 times to Guatemala, benefiting 199 children.

549 health care volunteers provided surgery and preventive care to 8,615 patients.

993 community development volunteers installed ONIL stoves and water filters in over 3,000 homes and schools.
